A resident at Club 04 and a regular on international stages, SHAGY’s dynamic presence and chart-topping releases have placed him among the Top 10 Indie Dance artists worldwide in 2023.

In 2024, SHAGY launched his own imprint, Miracle Maker Records, aiming to spotlight dancefloor-focused music beyond genre lines. His latest two-track EP, ‘Once Again Back’, delivers a punch of ’90s rave energy filtered through his modern lens.

In this conversation, SHAGY opens up about his creative process, label vision, and ongoing evolution.

EG: Hi, SHAGY! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been doing?

SHAGY: I’m feeling great, thanks for having me! It’s always fun to have a space to talk about my music and what drives me.

EG: First of all, congratulations on the drop of your new two-track EP, ‘Once Again Back’! You must be very excited about this one. What has the initial reception been like so far?

SHAGY: Thank you so much! I’d been waiting quite a while to release this EP, so the excitement is doubled. I’ve received a lot of positive feedback from both the crowd and fellow artists in the scene, and it really feels like the energy I put into the studio work is reaching people.

EG: So, what can your fans expect to find on ‘Once Again Back’? Is there a concept or emotional trigger driving these cuts?

SHAGY: The EP represents the sound I’ve been developing over the past few years—strong influences from ’90s rave music with high energy. I wanted to capture that free and uncompromising vibe from that era, but with my own modern twist.

EG: What sort of things inspire you these days? Do you have certain “routines” to get into the groove?

SHAGY: I get inspired first and foremost by listening to music—both new and old—and by collaborating with other producers, which always opens new directions. Performing live also feeds my creativity; seeing how the crowd reacts gives me fresh ideas when I’m back in the studio. Sometimes a new piece of gear or even small everyday moments can spark something as well.

EG: And this new EP is out via your own Miracle Maker Records, which launched last year. How does this release embody the ethos behind Miracle Maker?

SHAGY: The vision behind Miracle Maker is to provide a platform for high-energy dancefloor music without focusing on a single genre. For me, it’s all about the vibe—music that feels alive, connects people, and makes them move. This EP really reflects that spirit and shows how I see the label evolving.

EG: How has the imprint developed since its launch? What can we expect from Miracle Maker Records moving forward?

SHAGY: Since the launch we’ve had several signings and successes with different artists, which is amazing to see. I’m continuing to build the label around what I believe in—music with real energy that speaks to the dancefloor. You can definitely expect more surprising releases in the near future.

EG: By the way, you’re also behind the JUNKIES event series in Tel Aviv. How did this project come about? What is the concept behind JUNKIES and when can we expect the next edition?

SHAGY: JUNKIES is really the natural continuation of my musical shift. It grew out of my previous project called Funk & Junk, which toured clubs all over the country. With JUNKIES we keep giving a stage to artists who share our musical direction—underground energy that’s built for the dancefloor. We host an event once a month, and the next edition is on October 10.

EG: Now, stepping outside of the studio… Given your experience, what are some of the biggest challenges artists will face in the near future?

SHAGY: One of the biggest challenges is standing out—there’s an overwhelming amount of music and content, and audiences are flooded with information. You have to find ways to stay unique without losing your musical identity. On top of that, the economics of music are changing quickly, from streaming to social media to production costs, so it requires constant flexibility. Artists need to be not only creators but also entrepreneurs who know how to build a real community around their music.

EG: What’s next for SHAGY? What milestones are you looking forward to now? Where can your fans catch you next? Any tours in the horizon?

SHAGY: There are plenty of exciting releases and collaborations on the way—new productions of my own and projects with other producers I really respect. I’m also planning shows both in Israel and abroad in the near future, so there’s a lot to look forward to, both in the studio and on the dancefloor.

EG: Thank you so much for your time, SHAGY! We wish you all the best in the future. Take care!

SHAGY: Thanks for having me—it was a real pleasure!
