Robot Koch has released a new album under his ambient moniker Foam & Sand. Titled ‘Quieter’, the record is out now via Trees and Cyborgs and continues the producer’s exploration of sound, attention, and emotional experience.
Built around analog synthesizers, vibraphone, chimes, bells, and tape processing, the album adopts a restrained approach that prioritizes space, patience, and subtle musical gestures. Vocal contributions from Peia and Priscilla Ahn appear alongside a performance by violinist Masha Brodskaya.
‘Quieter’ also reflects a broader body of work connecting music with scientific research. In recent years, Koch has collaborated with organizations including the Monroe Institute, Seeded Sound, and Beckley Foundation / Beckley Psytech, exploring areas such as brainwave entrainment, neural regulation, and psychedelic-assisted therapy.
The release also serves as the foundation for a series of spatial audio listening experiences designed to support deep listening and collective attentiveness, including a UK premiere event scheduled for the end of May.
