#943 Deeper Shades of House Lars Behrenroth

Daskal has released his debut full-length album, ‘OD’, out now on DJ Tennis’ Life and Death. The 10-track project marks a key moment for the producer and composer, connecting his background in contemporary dance, film, and electronic music.
Co-produced by Dori Sadovnik of Red Axes, ‘OD’ explores the intersection of club-focused rhythms and synth-led compositions. The album reflects Daskal’s Transylvanian and Ukrainian musical roots, combining structured arrangements with dancefloor-driven energy.
The record’s lead single, ‘Changes’, arrives alongside a video directed by Tamir Faingold and featuring dancers from the Batsheva Dance Company. Built around contemporary dance, the visual translates the emotional intensity of nightlife into movement.
Across the album, tracks such as ‘1992’ and ‘OD’ highlight the contrast between classical elements and electronic production. Piano sequences, strings, and layered synths interact with percussive structures, shaping a sound that moves between performance spaces and club environments.
Recorded and mixed using a hybrid setup of vintage hardware and modern software, including a 1980s German mixer, the album signals a shift toward rhythm and physicality while maintaining a precise compositional approach.
