Akurei presents new HARLEY GIRL project, shares single

Gold Coast-based music producer Connor Grant, known professionally as Akurei, has unveiled his latest musical venture HARLEY GIRL. The project blends dance, house, and breakbeat music, creating a sound reminiscent of DJ ADHD, Mura Masa, and Nikki Nair.

HARLEY GIRL’s latest offering is the dancefloor-ready single ‘do it like that,’ which will appear on his upcoming second four-track EP.

“‘do it like that’ is the latest track I’m sharing from my 2018 Hyundai Kona,’ says Grant. “In all seriousness, my philosophy for this track and all the stuff I’m working on has been constraint—whether that be time, space, or both. Lately, I find the most exciting ideas come in 15-minute windows on my laptop in my car between work, rather than during full days off in total solitude.”

Since its inception in 2024, HARLEY GIRL has captured attention with four dynamic club singles. In an innovative twist, Grant composes these tracks in what he affectionately calls his mobile studio—his 2018 Hyundai Kona—during breaks from his day job.
