French producer Kavinsky dies aged 50

The cause of death remains under investigation.

French producer Kavinsky, born Vincent Belorgey, has died at the age of 50.

The artist was found dead at his home in Paris on Tuesday evening, July 28th, 2026. The Paris prosecutor’s office has opened an inquiry to establish the circumstances of his death, although first responders found no suspicious elements at the scene.

Kavinsky became internationally recognized through ‘Nightcall’, released in 2010 and later featured in Nicolas Winding Refn’s film Drive. His productions drew from French house, synthwave, and electropop, and his collaborators included Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and The Weeknd.

Following a hiatus, Kavinsky returned with his second studio album, ‘Reborn’, in 2022. In 2024, he performed ‘Nightcall’ during the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games alongside Angèle and Phoenix.

His distinctive cinematic sound and visual identity made him one of the most recognizable figures to emerge from France’s electronic music scene.
