Google launches MusicFX DJ: AI tool for real-time music creation

Google has launched MusicFX DJ, a cutting-edge AI tool that enables real-time music creation through various prompts. This innovative technology is a collaboration between Google Labs and Google’s DeepMind Technologies.

Jacob Collier, a UK artist serving as a project advisor, shared insights about the tool’s capabilities on Instagram. Collier explains that MusicFX DJ transcends conventional music generation, allowing users to shape sounds using not only standard instruments and genres but also emotions, abstract imagery, and even invented words.

MusicFX DJ represents a significant evolution from its predecessor. While Music FX generated short tracks from prompts, the new DJ mode enables users to compose entire sets using diverse inputs—ranging from “vibrato theremin jam” to “hip-house.”

This AI-powered music tool opens up exciting possibilities for both professional musicians and amateur enthusiasts.
