Jamie xx and Erykah Badu unite on new single ‘F.U.’

Jamie xx has released ‘F.U.,’ a new single featuring Erykah Badu, as part of the deluxe edition of his sophomore album ‘In Waves.’

The track combines Badu’s spontaneous vocal improvisations with Jamie xx’s signature production style, blending energetic synths and pulsating house rhythms.

This collaboration emerged from a chance moment at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound festival in 2019. During an afterparty set, technical issues led to an impromptu performance by Badu. In a post on Instagram, Jamie xx explained how he later invited her to transform this spontaneous moment into a full collaboration during the album’s final production phase.

The digital deluxe edition of ‘In Waves,’ released yesterday through Young, includes ‘F.U.’ alongside four additional tracks: ‘Do Something,’ ‘It’s So Good,’ ‘LET’S DO IT AGAIN,’ and ‘KILL DEM.’
