Lord Fascinator and Kate Stein join forces for the ‘Primary’ EP, a kaleidoscopic four-tracker out now via Eskimo Recordings. Birthed from a decade of creative chaos, the LA-based duo channel their shared history into a vibrant fusion of psychedelic synth-pop, chemically-charged disco, and surrealist western motifs.
The EP begins with ‘Chemistry’, featuring a combination of electronic arpeggios, dance rhythms and deep bass sounds. Next comes ‘Asteroid’, which mixes disco and synth-pop elements with upbeat vocals and retro influences.
The highlight track ‘Horse House’ combines western guitar sounds with electronic beats and horse-inspired audio samples. The EP ends with ‘Le Petit Martien’, a slower-paced final track at 110bpm that blends influences from Gainsbourg, Bad Seeds, and Todd Terje into a theatrical conclusion.
