Founded in New York in 2012 by Rocky Ramniceanu and Rami Abousabe of Bedouin, Bespoke Musik has evolved from an event series into a record label, guest-mix platform, and creative production project. As the collective prepares for its Amsterdam Dance Event gathering, Christian Voldstad and Rocky reflect on the musical direction, relationships, and programming choices that continue to shape its identity.

Bespoke Musik began with sunset boat parties around Manhattan, rooftop gatherings in Brooklyn, and warehouse events centered on melodic and deep house music. Fourteen years later, the platform has expanded into a record label, a guest-mix series with 230 episodes, and an event production operation.
Its next gathering takes place on October 24th, 2026, at What Is Happening Here Gallery in Amsterdam, bringing together Christian Voldstad, Powel, Matthew Dekay, and Robag Wruhme.
In this conversation, Christian Voldstad and Rocky Ramniceanu discuss Bespoke Musik’s evolution, its approach to curation, the importance of musical flow, and what lies ahead for the platform.
EG: Hi Christian, Rocky, and Holmar, welcome back to Electronic Groove. It’s great to have you with us. How have you all been, and how are things looking for Bespoke Musik at the moment?
Christian: Hi guys, pleasure to be back! I’m doing well, although extremely busy at the moment. We have a release on the label coming out on Friday, I’m playing at Signal in Brooklyn on Saturday, and then it’s off to Amsterdam for our event next weekend. Things are looking good!
EG: This ADE event feels like an important moment for Bespoke, particularly as you begin looking ahead and thinking about what the brand can become next. What are you hoping to build in this next phase?
Rocky: This event is a bit of a look into the music programming and direction that is important to us, although we’re not going to get pigeonholed into one particular sound. The type of music we’ve booked and played has evolved over the years, and I think that it’s important not to become stagnant or monotonous, as music is constantly changing!
EG: Bespoke has always been closely tied to a particular sense of curation and community. As the brand grows, what are the elements you feel are essential to preserve?
Christian: Bespoke has always been a music-first production, and we’re lucky to have the label and podcast series to be introduced to new artists. With the prevalence of hype and “headliner culture,” we feel it’s our attention to detail and programming that set us apart.

EG: You’re bringing Bespoke to Amsterdam for an afternoon at What Is Happening Here, a space that has a very different character from a conventional club. What drew you to the venue, and how much does the environment matter when you’re putting an event together?
Rocky: WIHH really gives us the blank canvas to create something new and special from the ground up. There’s an abundance of windows and natural light, which will allow us to highlight the transition from day to night.
Christian: We’ve got a few surprises in store during the event which I think will really help bring a sense of uniqueness that is essential to Bespoke Musik.

EG: Christian, you’ve been closely involved with Bespoke as both an artist and part of the team, while Powel has become part of the label’s story through your collaboration. How has that relationship between the people making the music and the people shaping the platform influenced Bespoke?
Christian: My first Bespoke Musik event, before I was even a resident, was the opening set for Powel at Lot 45 in Brooklyn. This was before I knew how to use CDJs and was still playing all vinyl, and Rocky liked my set so much he made me the new resident as soon as I put my last record away. Powel’s music has been emblematic of the thoughtful, elegant sound that has been a part of the Bespoke sound mixture since the beginning, and our collaborative work is a great example of where we want things to go.
EG: Bespoke has always seemed interested in sets that develop patiently rather than simply chasing peak-time impact. Has that philosophy changed as the scene around you has evolved, or does it still feel central to what you want the brand to represent?
Rocky: With the saturation in the event market that is becoming the norm nowadays, I think having a proper flow to the lineup is becoming rarer. Paying attention to this is one of the things that sets Bespoke Musik apart, and we’re happy to take the opportunity to bring new and interesting artists and see what transpires when they play together.
“With the prevalence of hype and “headliner culture,” we feel it’s our attention to detail and programming that set us apart”
EG: Looking beyond this particular event, are you thinking about expanding Bespoke into new cities, formats, or kinds of programming, or is the priority more about developing what already works?
Christian: Bespoke Musik has always been an international brand, and you can expect more events in interesting locales around the world, along with further evolution of the record label. Be on the lookout for Bespoke Musik vinyl soon as well!
