New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani recognized the career and contributions of British DJ Lee Burridge to house music, with a commendation awarded at the All Day I Dream event on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The citation was presented to him as a surprise and read to those in attendance at the end of his special eight-hour summer-closing set at Industry City, marking 15 years of All Day I Dream, an event created by the artist in Brooklyn as a project born from his search for a sonic change and his desire to foster a sense of community through an “emotional, melodic form of organic house music” within the electronic music scene.
The Mayor highlighted Burridge’s contributions to electronic music, as well as the role the brand has played in the city’s culture and nightlife. In the citation, he recalls how the event was launched and held “on the sweltering Brooklyn rooftop of a 100-year-old refurbished textile factory” for its first two years, before the party grew into an international music platform and daytime event series, now “celebrated by thousands in dance clubs, festivals, and open-air environments around the world.”
Likewise, the citation traces his artistic trajectory through the evolution of his current approach to house music, with New York becoming the setting for a defining chapter in both his career and the city’s nightlife.
To close, Mayor Mamdani places emphasis on Burridge’s ability to bring people together through music and expresses his hope of seeing the many ways the British DJ “will continue to enrich the pulsating soundtrack” of the lives of those who attend the experience.
