Sagia takes inspiration from California on ‘Destinations’

London-based DJ and producer Sagia returns with her new two-track ‘Destinations’ EP, out now via Natura Viva. Inspired by life on the road and specifically the Californian coastline, the release captures the warmth and escapism of Sagia’s signature melodic sound.

The EP opens with the title track ‘Destinations’, a feel-good journey through lush synths, steady percussion, and rising marimba textures. “It came from being on the road so much these last few years,” Sagia explains. “I’ve a weak spot for the nomadic feel of a US road trip. I’m really fascinated by the beauty of the Pacific Coast Highway.”

The B-side, ‘Sunken City’, is named after a legendary landslide site in San Pedro, L.A., and features dreamy piano lines, spacious delays, and a stripped-back bassline. Sagia describes it as “a magical spot… also featured in ‘The Big Lebowski’.”
