Eric Prydz has launched a new three-part documentary series that captures the vision and production process behind ‘Holosphere 2.0’, his most technically advanced live show to date. The first episode is now available to stream via his official YouTube channel.
Filmed in Ibiza, the documentary offers exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the making of ‘Holosphere 2.0’. Now in weekly residence at the island’s newly opened ‘Hyperclub’ [UNVRS] every Monday through September 1st, 2025. The series highlights the challenges faced by Prydz and his team in realizing this massive production, from concept through execution.
Towering over eight meters tall and weighing eight tonnes, the Holosphere structure was built entirely from bespoke components. With three transparent LED layers enveloping Prydz in a 360-degree performance space, the show blends reactive visuals, cinematic CGI, and live musical improvisation inside the world’s first holographic concert sphere. “We’ve waited six years for this,” said Prydz. “Not because we wanted to, but because we had to. The technology needed to catch up with our vision.”
The venue itself plays a crucial role in the experience. Conceived by The Night League, the team behind Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza, [UNVRS] was built with arena-grade infrastructure to support the technical demands of Holosphere 2.0. The show also features content developed by visual artist GMUNK, who helped animate immersive digital environments filmed and laser-mapped in 360 degrees.
