Martin Garrix and U2 unite on ‘Fireflies’

Martin Garrix and U2 have released their new collaborative single, ‘Fireflies’, via Darkroom Records.

The track received its live debut during Garrix’s headlining set at Tomorrowland, where The Edge joined him for a surprise appearance. It marks the first Garrix collaboration to feature all four members of U2, combining Bono’s vocals and the band’s instrumentation with Garrix’s electronic production.

Garrix said the song was first started six summers ago and described its Tomorrowland premiere as “electrifying and very surreal.” The Edge added that performing it outdoors reminded him why he enjoys playing without a ceiling.

Garrix previously worked with Bono and The Edge on ‘We Are The People’, created for the UEFA European Football Championship. He also produced ‘Scars’, featured on U2’s ‘Easter Lily’ EP.
