Mondo Love & Betrayal preview debut LP with ‘Beyond The Rainy City’

Mondo Love & Betrayal have shared their latest single, ‘Beyond The Rainy City’, continuing the rollout of the duo’s forthcoming self-titled debut LP on Phil Cooper’s NuNorthern Soul imprint.

Formed by Bent member and house producer Neil ‘Nail’ Tolliday alongside Henry Claude Scott, the project has steadily gained attention through a blend of nostalgic synth-pop textures, Balearic influences, and understated dancefloor sensibilities. Following early releases ‘Correspondence’ and ‘Your Latest’, the new single offers another glimpse into the duo’s upcoming album, due out in September.

Inspired by Manchester, the city Scott now calls home, ‘Beyond The Rainy City’ was influenced by a book exploring alternate realities created by detached shadows. The songwriting approach draws from narrative-driven influences associated with artists such as Paul McCartney, Jarvis Cocker, and Neil Tennant.

The single has already received support from Bill Brewster, Crazy P, Sally Rodgers, Chris Massey, and Sean Johnston, among others.
