Calvin Harris has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for the largest attendance at a DJ set by a single artist.
The Scottish DJ and producer performed from a carnival float on São Paulo’s Rua da Consolação in February, drawing an estimated 1.6 million people. The set included ‘This Is What You Came For’, ‘One Kiss’, ‘I Need Your Love’, and ‘We Found Love’, and marked his first performance in Brazil in more than a decade.
Guinness World Records officially recognized the achievement on September 20th. Harris shared the news on Instagram, writing: “WOW I now have the world record for ‘largest attendance for a DJ set by a single artist’ only in Brazil!!! This was a truly insane day.”
Official adjudicator Will Munford added: “An estimated 1.6 million people came out to be part of his performance in São Paulo, which is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to the global reach of his music.”
