Dutch drum & bass artist Teije van Vliet, known globally as Lenzman, has died at the age of 43. His family confirmed the news on July 12,  stating that he passed away on July 11, 2026, following a three-and-a-half-year battle with terminal cancer.

A prominent figure in soulful drum & bass, Van Vliet established himself through landmark releases on influential labels such as Metalheadz, which issued his 2014 debut album, ‘Looking At The Stars.’ In 2016, he launched his own imprint, The North Quarter, which became a vital platform for melodic, jazz-inflected drum & bass and related experimental sounds.

Throughout his career, Van Vliet was recognized for his technical precision and emotional depth in production. Despite his diagnosis in early 2023, he remained active in the studio and performed intermittently until his health complications worsened. In recent months, peers across the electronic music industry organized various benefit events in London and Amsterdam to support him and his family.
